Early stages of  a relationship can be the most wonderful feeling you can experience. The feelings of invincibilty, joy, lust and no cares in the world.

Eventually these feelings die down and you find yourselves sinking into reality. During the initial period of euphoria, your judgement of character can be imbalanced. What you thought was your soulmate for life could be no more than a fleeting encounter when you discover in the cold light of day that you have nothing in common to build a long-term relationship.

Here are a few tips to ascertain whether the partner you are with is compatible with your needs and ambitions.

Find out if you share similar hobbies and interests. If not then make sure that either one of you is prepared to try the other's hobbies and interests. What you do if you find out that he goes sailing every weekend and you hate water!

Discover if you share the same ideas on travel. It can be hard when one of you has seen the world whie the other hasn’t been out of the country. What if he is ready to settle down in a small town while you are itching to go see the world. However, it could work the other way as well – maybe you both have the hunger for travel and could do it together.

Do you both share the same values on money? Can he see the value of your Gucci bag or is he more likely to give money to charity? How we spend our money can greatly affect how others view us. No doubt conflicts will occur if he spands all his money on his car while you have concerns for the environment.
